Gouache is similar to watercolor in that it can be re-wetted and dried to a matte finish. Great delivery time and the paints are to die for!

Such a wonderful set! Been wanting to dive more into gouaches and this is absolutely the perfect choice for further exploration, I’ve had no mould issues and they stay at a good consistency even with very minimal water spritzing. Shipping was within a week of the order so I got to dig straight into them, highly recommend!

I liked the paints, Unfortunately they went mouldy after the first use and everytime I want to use them I have to spend 15 minutes scraping the mould off the top. I have tried letting them dry out, putting them in the fridge and wrapping in cling wrap. Nothing works they are always mouldy again. I have had to throw away more paint then I use. Really disappointed, I liked the paints but the mould issues is impossible to overcome. I would use tubes next time.

I’m sorry to hear that your colors got infected. Unfortunately colors, especially those that are moist, are susceptible to mold. There’s nothing in the Himi brand ingredients that would aggravate this issue.

It seems like your set is heavily infected. I’ve been using my Himi set for over four years now, and I’ve never encountered this problem.

Himi has also launched tubes, and we have them in stock. You could try using those instead, and hopefully, it won’t catch mold.
